About Sage

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 10 (7F, 3M) transferred from Espanola Humane in NM. Puppies were born at another shelter and the family was pulled from the euthanasia list by Espanola. Mom became too aggressive to provide basic care to her or the babies and puppies were separated to allow the behavioral team to work with her. Puppies arrived at CPR at 10 days old. Mom was transferred to CPR at a later date and is puppy #463 - Mama Tilly. From the foster: Meet Sage - aka "Chunk," the lovable little tank of the litter At just 8 weeks old, Sage is already making a name for herself as the biggest (and arguably the cuddliest) of her Rhodesian Ridgeback mix siblings. Her black-and-white coat gives her a striking look, but it's her easygoing personality that really steals the show. Sage is the perfect balance of playful and peaceful. She enjoys romping around with her brothers and sisters, tumbling and chasing until she's happily worn out-but once playtime is over, she's usually the first one to plop down for a nap. And when Sage sleeps, she really sleeps-think full-on puppy snores and cozy, curled-up naps that melt your heart. She has a naturally sweet, gentle temperament and loves being around people. One of her favorite spots is right at your feet in the kitchen, where she'll curl up contentedly as if she's part of the cooking crew, keeping you company while you go about your day. Despite being the biggest of the bunch, Sage hasn't quite realized her size yet-she still tries to squeeze into the coziest little spaces and happily nuzzles up like a tiny baby. She also still has that adorable puppy habit of finding something soft to suckle on when she's settling down, which just adds to her charm. Sage is already doing wonderfully with her potty training for her age. She's been going outside consistently and will even let you know when she needs to go by whining at the sliding door-such a smart girl who's eager to learn! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
