He walks nicely on leash, usually matching your pace—unless he catches a really good scent that needs investigating. He loves toys and chasing balls, though bringing them back is optional in his opinion. He’s a rough-and-tumble player who doesn’t realize how big he is, so he’d do best in a home without small dogs. He tends to do best with female dogs, as he can be a bit protective of his home with male dogs. He’s also a professional counter surfer who will absolutely help himself to snacks if they’re left out (even from impressive heights). And if he steals something like a loaf of bread, be prepared for a playful chase before he gives it up! Crates aren’t his favorite and he’ll dramatically protest going in, but once he’s settled he does just fine. At heart, he’s a sensitive, loyal boy who hates disappointing his people and will hide if he thinks he’s in trouble. After being found with pellet shot wounds, he has healed, completed heartworm treatment, and is now learning what love feels like in his foster home.
