Xander
AvailableXander is a large, adult neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a short black and white coat. He is house trained and his vaccinations are up to date. Xander is currently in Wyandotte, MI, looking for a home that will appreciate his affectionate, friendly nature and spirited charm.
About Xander
Xander has been waiting for the right home longer than most, but not for lack of trying. He’s had some awkward first impressions—like excitedly pawing hello and accidentally scratching a grandma, or pulling too hard on his collar before his obedience class days. He even managed to eat his collar once, which landed him at the vet for an endoscopy. Through it all, Xander’s spirit hasn’t dimmed and he’s always up for a new trick, a two-mile walk, or some couch time after. He’s earned a reputation as a shelter favorite, thanks to his goofy antics, big personality, and willingness to learn new things, like swimming and proper leash manners. Since arriving after a rough start on the street, Xander’s learned to trust, play, and relax. He’s house trained, spunky, and keeps learning—he’s currently in night obedience school and his adopter can continue his class for free. He loves day trips with volunteers, quietly hanging out, and just being around people. Xander does get along with other dogs, but meet and greets are required to ensure a good fit. This black-and-white big guy is just looking for someone to see past the clichés about shelter dogs and give him a shot at happiness. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
