About Daisy Lynn

Please read the bio in full for answers to common questions. If you have a question not covered here, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Daisy Lynn 🐾 Daisy Lynn is a sweet senior mixed-breed girl (estimated 10–12 years old) weighing about 27 pounds, with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love. Despite being blind, Daisy navigates her world impressively well and doesn’t let it slow her down. She’s a laid-back, “couch potato” type who enjoys the simple things—soft beds, warm sunshine, and time spent near her people. Daisy came into rescue after her owner lost their housing and, unfortunately, had never received veterinary care before. Since then, she’s been treated for a UTI, had her anal glands addressed, and is scheduled for a dental to help her feel even better. She’s also on medications including preventatives, Gabapentin, Trazodone, and eye drops for glaucoma. She is housebroken, though she had some accidents related to her UTI (now resolved). She walks well on a leash, handles being picked up without issue, and is generally an easy, low-maintenance companion. Daisy would do best in a home with minimal stairs, as she can occasionally misstep due to her vision. A fenced yard would be ideal—she absolutely loves wandering, rolling in the grass, and soaking up the sun—but she could adapt to a home without one if she gets consistent walks. She gets along with other respectful dogs (as long as they’re not in her face) and may be okay with cats—more information can be provided. She’s also fine being home alone for periods of time, as long as she has breaks during the day. While she’s more on the independent side, Daisy has her affectionate moments. She’ll greet you with the cutest little “tippy-tappy” dance and lean into you for love. If you give her a heads-up before picking her up (“1-2-3”), she’ll even give a little hop to help—it’s incredibly endearing. Her one quirk? She’s not a fan of her eye drops—but otherwise, she’s a very easygoing girl. Daisy’s ideal home:
A calm, patient household with minimal stairs, a predictable routine, and someone comfortable managing her eye care. A yard would be a big bonus for her daily sunbathing and exploring. If you’re looking for a gentle, resilient companion who will quietly steal your heart, Daisy Lynn is ready to meet you. 💛 Sent from my iPhone
