About Meryl Needs Summer

Meryl Needs Summer has spent a long couple of years waiting for a fresh start. He’s a 6-and-a-half-year-old, 60-pound Catahoula/Lab mix who was surrendered from his original home with several other dogs. Meryl is crate trained and loaded with energy—he’s happiest when there’s space to roam, toys to chase, and room for outdoor adventure. He’s been around kids all his life and gets along well with them, showing good-natured patience and confidence. This guy doesn’t like sharing his food, toys, or dog house with other dogs, so he’d prefer to be the only dog in the home, but may co-exist with slow, careful introductions if sharing isn’t required. Meryl isn’t fond of leash walks but is very responsive indoors, quickly learning commands such as "sit,” "go to your crate," and always comes when called. His independence and spirit line up with his breeds—he stays sharp and happiest when busy or outdoors. Meryl is crate trained, house trained, vaccinated, and neutered. He’d be a great fit for anyone with a fenced yard or property where he can enjoy his favorite activities. He’s currently out of state but will be transported to New England at no extra cost, ready to join a family who’ll give him a real summer of his own. Ready to fall in love?
