Tom Brady didn't come by his name lightly--he's a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog. This 7.5-year-old Pit Bull mix was lovingly cared for his entire life by an 83-year-old owner, and is now in our care only because his family can no longer manage his needs due to their own age and health. They describe him simply as "one of the best dogs I have ever met," and everything we've seen so far absolutely supports that. Tom is calm, gentle, and incredibly well-mannered. He's very people-oriented and enjoys being near his humans, but he's also perfectly content to take a little alone time and relax on his own. His favorite pastime is simply laying outside in the backyard, soaking up the peace and quiet. He's low-maintenance in his routine, typically only going out a few times a day for bathroom breaks and otherwise holding it well. He has lived a quiet, stable life with his previous owner and carries himself like a true gentleman. He is easygoing, respectful, and very chill in nature--truly the definition of a steady, comforting companion. We recently noticed Tom has a fatty lump on his chest, but there is also a similar lump on his rear leg that we are monitoring and suspect may also be benign, though continued observation will be recommended. At the end of the day, Tom Brady is exactly what his name suggests: dependable, steady, and quietly exceptional. He's looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years being someone's loyal shadow and backyard lounging partner.
