About Bourbon

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Bourbon is an adorable beagle who truly enjoys his daily walks. Like any proper beagle, he loves to sniff around, but he’s gentle on the leash which makes walks pleasant for everyone. Bourbon came to rescue with his friend Beasley, both incredibly shy and unsocialized at first, but over the past six months, patience and love have transformed them both into much more outgoing and confident companions. Although he still appreciates a safe place to retreat, such as curling up under a bed or on a cozy chair, he’s become more comfortable and will now cuddle with his foster family and their other dog in the evenings. For his continued growth, Bourbon will need a securely fenced yard as he is a bit of a flight risk. Having another gentle dog in the home can help him blossom—though it’s not required—and he is well-suited for homes with older children. He has shown he can be trusted in the house, is doing beautifully with housetraining, and no longer needs to be crated. Bourbon can be left with another dog for five to six hours without issue. He’s sensitive to rough play but enjoys gentle canine companionship, and while toys don’t catch his interest, he has a soft spot for tasty treats and picking up sticks during walks. Bourbon is heartworm negative and fully prepared to meet his forever family. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
