About Abby
Abby is a 1½-year-old Beagle/Terrier mix who’s as sweet as she is resilient. She’s about 50 pounds—right in that comfortable range where she feels sturdy enough for a hike but still fits perfectly on the couch for a good cuddle. Abby grew up with one family since she was eight weeks old, but was returned when a new baby came home and the senior dog didn’t take to her. Despite the shake-up, she’s still silly and upbeat, always looking for the next bit of fun or affection. Abby gets along well with other dogs, as long as they treat her kindly. She’s also great with cats and gentle with kids, showing an easygoing temperament around little ones. There’s a bit of caution toward some men at first, but with time (and maybe a few treats), she opens up and warms to them. Abby appreciates a stable environment and will thrive in a quieter home without a lot of visitors. Once she knows who her people are, she’s loyal and protective—the kind of dog that really bonds with those who show her patience and kindness. House trained and up to date on her vaccinations, Abby is looking for someone to give her a second chance at a real forever home where she feels secure and loved.
