About Alonso

Your new best friend is just one click away. Meet Alonso, a wonderful companion who has traveled from Tijuana in hopes of finding his forever family! Alonso is a mellow 7-year-old Border Collie mix who weighs around 45 pounds. He’s already neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Alonso is house-trained, potty-trained, and walks well on leash, making daily routines easy. Alonso does have some special health considerations. He’s on a special Royal Canin Veterinary Diet to support his kidneys and takes medications for his vision and high blood pressure. Alonso has limited vision in his right eye and is blind in the left, so he requires eye drops and lubricant, along with his daily medications. Despite these needs, he’s a happy, sweet boy who adores cuddling on the couch, sunbathing, relaxing with belly rubs, and exploring the neighborhood on walks or car rides. His playful side shines through with the occasional backyard zoomie and a game of fetch. For Alonso to thrive, he should be the only animal in your home, as he isn’t comfortable around other dogs or cats. He’d love a home with adults or older children (eight and up) where he can soak up plenty of love and attention. He is content on his own without much separation anxiety as long as he receives affection from his people. As an added benefit, Alonso’s adoption package includes a free four-week virtual training scholarship with GoodPup to help everyone settle in smoothly. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
