About Alfred
Alfred, affectionately known as Alfie, is a small Dachshund/Chihuahua mix with a shy but sweet soul. He didn't have the smoothest start in life and is still learning to trust people, but he's shown a huge heart for snuggling up with other dogs. Playtime is his specialty—tug-of-war is his favorite—but once he has burned off his energy, he’s happiest curled up in a soft bed next to a canine buddy. Alfie thrives around other dogs and must join a home with an existing dog companion. He’s wary of strangers at first and takes time to warm up, but the reward is a dog who increasingly enjoys gentle belly rubs and cozy spots, like the foster’s bed. House training has been a breeze for Alfie; he hasn’t had a single accident and is proud of it. While not kennel trained, he isn’t scared of kennels either. With his skittish temperament, he’s best suited for homes with children over 10. He hasn’t met any cats yet, so his compatibility with felines is unknown. Alfie occasionally barks when excited but isn’t overly noisy. Ready to welcome a loyal little companion who simply wants safety, soft places, and a canine friend?
