About Isabel
Isabel is a small, senior brown tabby with a white chin who has spent much of her life with Jeremiah and Conrad, first in a catio and then in a closed room. After their owner passed away, the trio came to Yucaipa Animal Placement Society in September 2025. Isabel is naturally shy, a result of years of limited human contact, and generally prefers her own space. She won't seek out people for affection and is most comfortable when people approach her gently and without expectation. Attempts to hold her aren't welcomed; she'll need time to acclimate and should start out in a quiet "safe room" in her new home. Isabel is closely bonded with Jeremiah and Conrad, and while adopting all three together would be ideal, it isn't required. Her calm, reserved nature would fit best in a home that can give her patience and understanding as she adjusts. She was born under the sign of Libra, so peace and balance might just help her feel at home. Think you are the one? Submit an application!

Questions about Isabel
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic short hair cats like Isabel do well in quiet and stable indoor environments. They appreciate spaces where they can have a safe hiding spot and the routine isn't overly chaotic.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Isabel, as a domestic short hair, does not require outdoor space and will thrive as an indoor cat. Providing window views or a small catio can enrich her life, but she is happiest inside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Domestic short hair cats like Isabel are usually adaptable, but given Isabel's shy nature, she would be more comfortable in a home without young children or with older, respectful ones.
