About Hardy

Hardy spent his early years outside, but he's learned that being inside has its perks. After more than a year in foster care, he's changed from a nervous shelter dog to one who’s curious and a bit bold, though still careful around new people and situations. Hardy likes to set his own boundaries—he prefers to approach you first, but once you’ve earned his trust, he reveals a very affectionate side. Toys and treats (especially bones) are his favorites, and he’s content to watch the world from behind a screen door or to lounge nearby while you relax. When he’s ready to recharge, Hardy puts himself in his crate; he’s crate trained and fully house trained. He knows several commands—like “go” (for his crate), “sit,” and “shake”—and is picking up on “leave it.” Walks go smoothly, and he’s being muzzle trained. With experience in an apartment and long days in the crate, he does well with structure and routine. Hardy thrives in calm, quiet homes without children or cats. He can coexist with small dogs and might warm up to large dogs with slow, patient introductions. He’s a “threenager”: playful, sometimes talkative, and always independent. He’s allergic to chicken, so you’ll want to keep that out of his diet. Located in Whittier, CA. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
