August settled into her foster home quickly and has shown that she's not only sweet and affectionate but also silly and full of playful energy. She loves making friends with everyone she meets, whether they are men or women, and she does well with other dogs given proper introductions. August will gently nudge your hand or tap you with her paw when she wants some love, or she might just bring you a toy to let you know it's time for a play session. She is a true shadow, always curious about what her foster mom is up to, following her from room to room, but she also handles being left home alone uncrated very well, typically enjoying a peaceful nap during those times. She is calm in the car, enjoys the breeze on her nose, and absolutely adores her walks—especially if she gets to carry a toy along the way. Toys, fetch, long walks, ear scratches, and cuddles on the couch are her absolute favorites, and she never tires of a new game or adventure. August is food-motivated and already knows several commands like sit, down, and shake. She’s even been paddleboarding and showed herself to be smart, confident, and ready for adventure. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Due to age-related degenerative changes in her spine, August is incontinent, but she does well wearing diapers and managing her condition is easy. She will need lifelong medication to remain comfortable, but her sweet nature and zest for life make her truly special. August is ready to find a forever home where she can be loved and cherished.
