Meet Aelius! A stunning 7 month old (as of 2/18) pup with the classic good looks of a Redbone Coonhound and the joyful spirit of a growing puppy. At about 30 pounds, he’s the perfect medium size but still has a little more growing to do! With his rich brown coat and expressive eyes, he turns heads everywhere he goes—but it’s his loving, connected personality that truly steals hearts. This energetic, playful boy LOVES to play, explore, and be part of whatever you’re doing. He’s incredibly food motivated and thrives during training sessions—offering tons of eye contact and focus. He already knows sit, down, wait, stay, middle, and come, and he’s famously an “automatic sitter” who will walk up to you and politely sit for pets. Smart and charming! Aelius is fully house trained and crate trained, walks well on leash, and sheds very little. He’s great with other dogs and does well with kids and adults. He is not a resource guarder and enjoys treats, toys, and affection equally. Like many young hounds, Aelius is enthusiastic. When excited, he may jump or get a little mouthy but that's easily corrected with treats involved. Enforced naps help him regulate, as he’s very curious about the world and doesn’t want to miss a thing—especially when he hears the door open. Greeting his people is truly the highlight of his day! Aelius would thrive in an active home that’s ready to continue his training and give him structure, consistency, and lots of love.
