About Arno

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Arno is the epitome of calm, gentle, and sophisticated canine companionship. This soft, affectionate soul approaches life with a sense of mindful tranquility, always taking things one cozy moment at a time. You'll often find him carefully selecting the perfect spot to rest, quietly observing his people, or politely reminding you that a little head pat never hurt anyone. His serene demeanor and loving nature set him apart as an easygoing presence in any home. At eight years old and weighing in at an impressive 112 pounds, Arno is a majestic Great Pyrenees who brings both gentle companionship and undeniable flair to his environment. Pictures may capture his adorable looks, but they simply can't do justice to his grand size and presence. He drifts through the house with the grace of a fluffy iceberg, takes up his fair share of real estate, and prefers to spend most of his days napping and providing steady company rather than stirring up mischief. Arno entered rescue after his family's circumstances changed, but he has adapted in true gentle giant fashion—accepting his new chapter with steadiness and plenty of naps. He does well with other dogs, engaging politely without feeling the need to be involved in every stray burst of indoor excitement. While he certainly joins in on neighborhood barking sprees when needed, he’s more of a calm observer most of the time. As for cats, Arno’s philosophy is one of live and let live; given his laid-back attitude, he expects mutual respect, and foresees peaceful coexistence. Children are uncharted territory for Arno, so a home with adults or older, gentle children who respect his sensitive and refined nature is ideal. He is not a fan of roughhousing or startling touches, preferring calm interactions and gentle handling. Arno's energy level hovers at a comfortable “selectively motivated,” preferring measured activity followed by ample rest. Walks are a delight—he is polite on leash and enjoys pausing to take in the scenery. He navigates car rides with dignity if he gets a little assistance up, and he is the model of decorum once on board. While he is adaptable to homes with or without a fenced yard, Arno needs regular walks if his new home doesn’t have outdoor space, as he loves being outside and keeping tabs on the neighborhood. Apartment life, however, may not suit him due to his vocal (yet important!) security announcements. A trustworthy, house-trained gentleman, Arno is reliable and well-mannered. He is well-versed in basic commands and prefers free-roaming over crates—he simply embodies the house iceberg spirit of quiet supervision. If your life is missing a calm, majestic companion who doubles as an emotional support cloud, Arno may just be the perfect addition to your family. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
