🐾 Meet Blinky (aka Blink) – A Loyal Heart Ready for His Person 🐾 Blinky, or “Blink” as we like to call him, is a 2-year-old German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a story that didn’t start the way it should have. He came to our rescue after being seized from a facility that was supposed to be a service dog training program but instead left him underweight and neglected. Despite that, Blinky has held onto his trust in people — and it really shows. He has some truly impressive training already under his belt. Blinky knows sit, down, and stay very well, has great recall, walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, and goes right into his crate when asked. He’s eager to please, highly food motivated, and very tuned in to his person. Blinky does well with other dogs, is good with cats, and remains very neutral in new environments. He even attended a busy soccer game and handled it impressively — taking things in stride and staying close to his person when things got loud or overwhelming. He also travels exceptionally well — he’ll hop right in and out of the car and is content to just lay calmly while waiting to go wherever you’re headed. And here’s something pretty amazing — Blinky will jump right into the tub on his own and sit perfectly for a bath if you ask him to sit and stay. No lifting, no fuss — he just calmly waits while you bathe him like a total pro. That said, Blinky is still learning that the world is a safe place. Loud, sudden noises (like cheering crowds) and overwhelming situations (like multiple young children rushing up to him) can make him anxious. When that happens, he shows excellent, predictable behavior — he may give a small grumble or simply move behind his person for reassurance. He communicates clearly and appropriately, which makes him a wonderful dog to understand and advocate for. He’s doing great with crate training and has had no accidents in the house as he settles into a routine. Right now, we’re focused on helping him gain some healthy weight and continue building his confidence. Blinky is the kind of dog who will form a deep, loyal bond with his person. He would do best in a home that understands his need for calm, structure, and continued positive experiences. In return, he will give you his whole heart. He will go home with a collar and leash, two food bowls, some food, treats, a toy, and all of his medical records and microchip information to help make his transition to his forever home smooth and easy.
