About Catdog

Catdog is available on a first come, first served basis. To meet this pet, please come to the shelter during adoption hours, fill out a survey with your information, and then you'll meet with an adoption coordinator who will introduce you and walk you through the adoption process. Catdog has to be the only dog in the home.

Hot, humid summers with severe thunderstorm risk call for careful planning of outdoor activities. Walk in the morning or evening and carry water for your pet. The Missouri River trails and Heartland of America Park offer scenic but exposed routes, so seek shade.

Fall is pleasant but brief, with comfortable temperatures and beautiful foliage along the Missouri River. September and October offer the best outdoor pet weather in Omaha. Prepare for cold snaps by November as winter approaches quickly.
