About Argo
Argo came to rescue from South Dakota Reservation life back in 2022 and brings those sharp, independent “Rez dog” instincts with him. At about 4 to 5 years old, he’s a hefty mix, likely part Australian Shepherd, part German Shepherd, and maybe some cattle dog in the mix. Argo’s active and athletic, always ready for work or a brisk walk, and genuinely loves any chance to hop in a car. He’s leash-ready, takes walks seriously, but has his clownish side—especially if there’s a free lap to crash. He’s fully house trained and has had basic obedience, but he’ll need his daily exercise. A big, securely fenced yard is non-negotiable—Argo’s not built for apartment life. He bonds hard to his person and thrives best in a single-adult home, where he can channel his loyal, protective side in a safe way. No cats for Argo, but he does well with other dogs. He’s a clever guy who will keep up with training and really just wants a steady, dedicated human. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Argo
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Argo is a mix of Australian Shepherd and German Shepherd Dog, both breeds that traditionally do best in homes with plenty of space—ideally with a large, fenced yard. These dogs excel where they can stay active and have tasks or training to focus on.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Given Argo's heritage, he will thrive with access to a secure, sizable outdoor area. Daily exercise in a large yard is necessary for his physical and mental well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While both Australian Shepherds and German Shepherds are often good with children, Argo is looking for an adult-only home, as he bonds very closely to his person and can be protective.
