At 8 years old and 58 pounds, Shadow is proof that some of the best dogs come with a little gray on their muzzle and a whole lot of love in their hearts. This gentle Rottweiler mix came to our rescue after her owner passed away, and despite losing the only home she knew, Shadow has handled every change with quiet sweetness and grace. Now in a foster home, she’s doing wonderfully with dogs of all sizes decently with cats. Feisty felines aren’t exactly her favorite, but true to her easygoing nature, she’s making it work. Shadow earned her name honestly—she loves following her people from room to room, happiest just being close by. She adores cozy beds, calm companionship, and being part of everyday life. Shadow is housebroken, rides beautifully in the car, and while getting in and out can make her a little nervous, once she’s settled she’s an excellent passenger. She pulls a bit on leash, but with consistency and patience, she's already continuing to improve her manners. What makes Shadow special is how naturally she fits into your heart and home. Even though she’s a bigger girl, she has such a soft, gentle presence. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly keep you company, greet you with love after a long day, and remind you how wonderful senior dogs truly are. Shadow doesn’t need perfection—just someone willing to give her the safe, loving golden years she deserves.
