About Rocky

Rocky is something of a legend—a scrappy survivor who’s spent more than a year with his rescue after fending for himself on the streets for a year and a half. His knack for survival is matched only by his knack for escaping; Rocky eluded capture by animal control and others for months, and even after being rescued, he managed to escape twice—he once traveled 17 miles to find his way back to the only home he’d known for just one week. Ultimately, he was tranquilized for his own safety and finally brought into stable foster care. At around 4 years old, this 35-lb "mini Rottweiler" has proven himself as loyal, intelligent, and deeply devoted to his people. He’s house trained, fully vetted, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Rocky lives with other dogs now, but it’s clear he will thrive as the only pet in a quieter, stable environment where he can finally decompress and be someone’s main companion—especially if that person is female, as he seems more comfortable with women. Rocky forms deep, lasting bonds and requires an adopter who understands patience, commitment, and the importance of rock-solid security—he wears a GPS tracker for a reason. Rocky needs a calm home, someone ready to invest time earning his trust. If you’re steady, patient, and truly willing to make this his forever landing, this resilient dog is ready for a once-in-a-lifetime partnership. Your new best friend is just one click away.
