When Lizzie arrived at her foster home, she was reserved and kept her distance, taking time to feel secure in her new world. With patience, she has blossomed into an affectionate companion who now seeks out pets and enjoys cuddling up next to her person at night—often snuggled beside them or nestled at their feet. She also takes great comfort in cuddling with other cats, showing a preference for furry companions. For Lizzie to feel at home, she needs a few cozy hiding spots where she can retreat and feel safe. Trust is key for her, and once she has built a bond, her sweet, loving, and playful nature emerges in full. When exploring new spaces, Lizzie likes reassurance from a familiar person and rewards her people with zoomies, biscuit-making, and even exposing her soft tummy—a sign of trust. Currently, Lizzie enjoys being close to humans rather than being a lap cat, but her social skills are growing as she matures. Playtime is one of her favorite activities, with wand toys, ball tracks, toy mice, and pompoms all sparking her curiosity. Lizzie genuinely loves the company of other cats, and she would thrive in a home with another playful feline companion. Lizzie is a quiet girl with an adorable, squeaky meow, usually heard when she’s excited to see you or exploring new surroundings. She is a meticulous self-groomer, often washing her face after treats. While she becomes comfortable with gentle touch to her paws, face, and ears, nail trimming remains challenging as she’s still uneasy with being held. She generally enjoys brushing, though it can be a bit much for her if she’s feeling energetic. Lizzie is still learning to build confidence with new people and environments. She thrives in a calm setting, preferring to meet one person at a time, and feels most secure when interactions are at her pace. She is not keen on direct approaches, especially while someone is standing, but she absolutely cherishes being able to choose when to initiate contact. When she gives her heart, it’s truly special. A patient, understanding home that allows Lizzie to continue to grow will be richly rewarded with her loyalty and affection. She isn’t particularly food motivated and prefers to free-feed on kitten kibble, although soft treats and fish flavors are her favorites. Amusingly, Lizzie’s playfulness extends even to tiny home invaders—she much prefers chasing them to hunting! Please keep in mind that the Misfit Felines policy requires that young kittens like Lizzie have a sibling to go home with or that there is already a playful/young feline in the home.
