About Aubrey

Aubrey is a six-year-old Boston Terrier trying to find her place in the world. She comes off as shy and sensitive, and she gets overwhelmed easily, but at her core Aubrey wants to feel safe and understood. With time and patience, she has started to make progress in her foster home, including improving her potty training and adjusting to kennel life. Aubrey needs a calm, predictable home where she can move at her own pace. She isn’t clingy; she’ll give you space, though she likes to settle near you when she feels at ease. She’s not the cuddliest dog, but those quiet times at your side mean a lot to her. Quick movements or loud noise can startle her, so a serene setting, ideally with someone home much of the time, suits her best. Aubrey must be in a cat-free home due to her high prey drive. She may do well with gentle, non-dominant dogs but generally prefers to be the only dog or with very calm companions. Because she can be reactive toward similar-energy dogs (like other Terriers or Bully breeds), choosing her canine housemates thoughtfully is important. Aubrey also needs older kids (10+) or adults only—her nerves can’t handle wild, younger children. She is on a prescription I/D diet for GI sensitivity, and a secure home is a must since she may bolt if startled. Aubrey isn’t the right fit for everyone, but for the right person, she’ll be loyal company. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
