Teddy Lane
AvailableTeddy Lane is a senior male Shih Tzu, considered small in size, and currently in Cuba, NY. He is neutered, house trained, and vaccinated. Teddy has special medical needs that a new family should be prepared to manage.
About Teddy Lane
Teddy Lane is a 15-pound Shih Tzu, born around March 1, 2015, who lost his home after his person grew too old to care for him. Teddy has a long medical history: he may have protein-losing nephropathy or Cushing's, has bilateral grade 2 luxating patellas (they aren’t painful or uncommon), lenticular sclerosis in his eyes (just aging), and a few small, non-cancerous adenomas. He also tested positive for Lyme in 2017 but tested negative in 2025, and at some point was likely clipped by a car. Even so, Teddy doesn’t let any of it dampen his spirits. He adores his people, travels well on car rides, enjoys his leash walks, and generally rolls with life. He gets along with other dogs, and is probably fine with cats—ask if you need a cat test. Older, respectful children should be no problem. Teddy Lane deserves a family that will cherish him for whatever time he has left. Bringing home a senior like Teddy means committing to higher vet bills and the reality that you’ll face goodbye sooner, but you’ll also gain a grateful, loving friend.
