About Alaska Aka Subie Lou
Alaska, also known as Subie Lou, is a striking 3-year-old female Labrador Retriever mix who landed at the shelter after being found in the Belpre, Ohio area. She arrived without a collar or microchip, but quickly made herself memorable with her sleek black coat, bright white chest, and expressive brown eyes. There's a dusting of white on her muzzle and on her paws, and those long, floppy ears give her a gentle, inviting look. She’s on the bigger side, weighing in at 83 lbs, but her size is matched by her calm demeanor. Alaska has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations. When given the chance to be outside, she relished the moment and handled herself well, making it clear she’s ready for a home again. She may not be fully housetrained yet but is eager to please and responds well when given outdoor time. Walking on a leash comes naturally to her, and she truly enjoys gentle attention. After having been overlooked by her previous owner, Alaska deserves a second shot with a loving family. Whether as a direct adoption or a foster-to-adopt, she’s ready to find comfort in a new environment. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
