At six years old, this medium-sized female Jindo/Chow Chow mix is currently safe at a foster home in Korea, hoping for a second chance to be cherished as part of a loving family in Northern VA or the Washington DC suburbs. Yuri’s life began with a dramatic rescue when her mother was found giving birth in dire conditions, and while her siblings made their way to the United States, Yuri stayed in Korea, eventually finding herself neglected before being rescued once more. With a gentle nature and a bright, affectionate spirit, Yuri thrives on human companionship, tasty treats, and playful games of fetch. She’s known for her loving personality and will make a wonderful addition to the right home—particularly one that promises to keep her indoors and never let her experience neglect again. It’s strongly preferred that Yuri isn’t left alone for more than four hours; doggy daycare is recommended if you’re away longer. Please note, the rescue adopts only to applicants who live within 45 minutes of Springfield, VA, are 25 or older, and do not have children under eight in the household. Adoption includes a required home check and post-adoption follow-up. While you can’t meet Yuri before adopting, the rescue will provide thorough information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her. Previous socialization for dogs from similar backgrounds has been minimal, so patience and gentle training practices will help Yuri settle in as a beloved family pet.
