After surviving a harsh winter with her mother and being the only puppy to make it through, Dooyoo found safety thanks to the kindness of a stranger and has since thrived in her foster care. Dooyoo’s warm and loving nature shines with everyone she meets—she adores people of all ages and gets along beautifully with other dogs both big and small. She has shown herself to be calm and non-aggressive around cats, though she hasn’t lived with them directly. Playful and puppy-like, she loves her squeaky toys, stuffed animals, and is still in her chewing (teething) phase. Her excitement for life is evident in her happy wiggles and, sometimes, a tiny tinkle when meeting new friends. She’s brave and curious with new experiences, needing just a treat and a kind word to boost her confidence. When playtime is over, she loves curling up for restful naps. Dooyoo walks well on leash, rarely barks, and does not have separation anxiety, making her an easygoing companion who thrives on love and attention. Please remember that dogs should not be left alone for more than four hours, and consider doggy daycare if you’ll be away longer. Applicants need to live within a 45-minute drive of Springfield, Virginia, and meet a few additional requirements: no children under 8 years old in the home, at least 25 years old, willing to have a home check, and provide information for post-adoption pet monitoring. Dooyoo is currently being fostered in Korea and will be transported once adopted—meet-and-greets are not offered, but detailed photos and videos will be shared. Dogs with backgrounds like Dooyoo’s may need extra patience and understanding as they adapt to family life, but their progress is genuinely rewarding. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
