About Aldo
If you want a companion who's always game for late-night snacks and is never short on reminders of how great you are, Aldo may be your match. At two years old and weighing in at 80 lbs, this black, harlequin, and cream Pointer/Mastiff mix was found wandering east Lakewood before being welcomed into foster care. When called, Aldo eagerly responded—rolling over without hesitation, just happy to be seen. After a stint at the shelter and no claim from former owners, his foster mom gave him a safe landing. Aldo's temperament is mellow and easygoing. He's house trained, content lounging in his crate overnight, and spends his free time in the guest room without causing trouble. He knows commands in both English and Spanish, walks calmly on a leash (though he hasn't picked a favorite side of the sidewalk), and is highly treat motivated. He shares his affection freely—interested in everyone, wanting to join in with kids' games. While another dog housed with him at the shelter posed no problem, Aldo hasn't been fully tested with other dogs outside of that. He doesn't get along with cats and needs an owner mindful of any feline encounters during walks. Aldo enjoys fetch, belly rubs, and quiet time next to his people. He loves to give hugs and adores attention. Current status: vaccinated, scheduled to be neutered, and microchipped. Ready to meet someone who appreciates a gentle, affectionate soul.
