About Barbie
Barbie is a small Chihuahua mix who came from a home crowded with nearly 100 dogs. She’s young—maybe under a year—and is figuring out life in her foster home. While she’s playful, smart, and has a knack for climbing and finding adventure, people still make her nervous. Barbie does best with other dogs; she picks up social cues from her canine friends and trusts dogs well. She’s not ready for cuddles or close contact—she’s still wary of being touched or picked up—but she’ll give eye contact, understands verbal cues, and is learning the ropes about going outside and using puppy pads. She is an escape artist and lets you know what she wants with her voice, but she’s not relentless about barking. Barbie sleeps quietly in her crate. She’ll thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner and a playful, confident dog to show her the way. Patience is key, since Barbie still wants humans to keep their distance until she’s ready. If you know what it means to work with a dog who’s new to people, you’ll appreciate the progress she’s making. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
