About Penne

Penne is one of our Italian Litter pups born to a stray rescued mom in a loving DSDA foster home on 12/14/25. She is 4 months old now & only 22 pounds of cattle dog, mini schnauzer, poodle, rottie and more mix! This dreamy eyed girl brings the fun energy. She is quickly learning how to walk on leash. She sits easily for a treat, too. Penne is being crate trained with much success in such a short time. She is gently enthusiastic about getting to know the resident cat and is quick to acknowledge his signals about how he's feeling. She asks for cuddles which is one of the sweetest things about her. To meet Penne (from the Italian litter) in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application. ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption! * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325 Dogs (over 12 months) - $275 Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.
