This tiny black-and-white girl survived three weeks on her own in a coyote-populated area of Southern San Diego before we were able to safely bring her in. Despite efforts to locate her family, no one came forward — and it quickly became clear Aiko had once been a “pocket pup” who hadn't experienced much of the outside world. When she arrived, Aiko was scared and unsure — she didn't know how to walk on a leash, preferred potty pads, and would freeze instead of using her legs. But with patience, consistency, and love, she has become a bubbly outgoing social diva.
