About Macchiato
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Macchiato found his way to safety in May of 2022 after living in a hoarding situation, fending for himself alongside his siblings and a group of older dogs. Initially intensely fearful of people, Macchiato spent considerable time learning to trust, having never been touched by humans before rescue at about a year old. His rehabilitation was significant—first decompressing and then gently working on trust and social skills. Through patient guidance, he made great progress, learning to walk on leash, be social, and show real bravery. His foster experience was a true turning point: he did wonderfully, even getting along well with cats! When given the chance to go public, Macchiato wowed everyone by becoming the rescue's most solid and steady companion, undisturbed by new situations and thriving on affection—especially tummy rubs, which he insists on receiving. Now, he seeks out human touch, gently letting you know when he wants more cuddles, and even volunteers as a demonstration dog for others. Transitioning to a new home may bring some initial setbacks, but the team is ready to give support to ensure a smooth adjustment. Despite his start as a feral dog, Macchiato is a proven success story—balanced, affectionate, and full of life at only 2 years old, ready for the loving family he deserves. Due to his history and potential as a flight risk, it's crucial that Macchiato never be left unattended in a yard. Crate training when alone is essential, and all adventures require a firm grip on the leash. His adopters must always monitor doors and windows, commit to no off-leash activities in unfenced areas, and be dedicated to his ongoing safety. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
