Billy is an approximately 2‑year‑old, 35‑pound Boxer mix with a giant heart and an even bigger goofy grin. Though he’s mostly blind and partially deaf, he approaches life with curiosity, bravery, and a cheerful spirit. He’s learning his way around his foster home, working on potty training, and making progress every single day. His determination is incredible. He enjoys the company of other dogs, though he prefers to keep his food and toys to himself — understandable given his past as a dog that was starved, but this is easily managed by feeding him in his crate. He also has a wonderful trainer helping him build confidence, learn new skills, and continue blossoming into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. Billy was also diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism, a condition that affects calcium levels, but the great news is that it’s very manageable. He simply takes one inexpensive pill each day (about $14 a month!), and we’re even covering his first year of medication for his adopter. Billy would thrive in a patient, loving home that will support him as he settles in and continues learning. He has so much love to give — he just needs someone willing to see how special he truly is.
