About Duke
Duke is a sweet and gentle soul, calm and patient by nature. He’s affectionate without being needy, and doesn’t demand attention, preferring to quietly be part of the group. In public, Duke keeps to himself and stays calm. He’s a great size at around 40 lbs—big enough to play, but small enough for most homes. He gets along with kids and has a gentle way about him that makes him easy to be around. Duke came from a rough situation where he lived with a group of dogs abandoned in the woods. Thanks to a caring person reaching out for help, he and his friends were rescued just before winter hit. Duke has been waiting a long time for someone to notice him. He’s friendly, but a bit submissive, and will likely blossom with focused, one-on-one attention. He is neutered, heartworm tested, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Duke is ready for a family who sees his quiet charm and who’s willing to give him a fresh start. Let’s make sure he doesn’t spend another year waiting for home.
