Ginger is a small Chihuahua mix who is currently very shy and sensitive to new people and environments. She is in need of a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and take things at her own pace while she adjusts. At this time, Ginger is not fully leash trained and can become unsure or freeze when on leash. However, she is beginning to show progress in her confidence—she will follow her caregiver in calm, enclosed outdoor spaces and is starting to explore more when she feels secure. Once she feels safe, Ginger begins to slowly build trust and will start to seek out closeness and comfort from her person. She does best with gentle handling, consistency, and allowing her to approach new experiences without pressure. Ginger will thrive in a home that understands shy, under-socialized dogs and is willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell at her own pace.
