About Tom
Meet Tom! Tom is a 2-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a big heart and an even bigger need for snuggles. His original dad had to let him go due to dementia, so Tom is on the lookout for a new person to share his affection. He wants to be the center of someone's world and will repay it in endless cuddles. Tom specializes in transforming any lap into his favorite place and builds the comfiest pillow nests. He’s a gentle soul who starts off a little shy, but once he gets to know you, he sticks by your side—dedicated, sweet, and full of love. He can keep up on long walks or hikes, but he’s just as happy taking it easy at home. For training, he’s smart, food-motivated, and mostly house-trained but gets a bit mouthy when excited. Tom’s a good candidate for someone willing to continue working with him and building up his basic commands. He does well with other dogs and would probably be happiest in a quieter home with adults or older children who move at a relaxed pace. Someone home most of the time would be ideal, especially if you love a dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. If you’re after a devoted little companion who fits just as well on the couch as by your feet on a hike, Tom could be the one. As a fun fact, Tom is a Pisces—no surprise he’s affectionate and sensitive! Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.

Questions about Tom
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Tom, a Chihuahua mix, is best suited for a home that offers plenty of human companionship—these dogs thrive as close companions to their owners. Apartments or smaller spaces work well as long as Tom gets enough attention and stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahua mixes like Tom do fine with minimal outdoor space; a small yard or regular walks suffice. Access to a secure area for short play sessions is a plus, but he can adapt well to leash walks and indoor games.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Tom and most Chihuahua mixes can do well with respectful older children, especially if the home is calm and kids understand how to interact gently with a small dog.
