About Rosie

Rosie is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how you ever lived without her. 💕 After lovingly raising 11 puppies (born in rescue and all in forever homes), this incredible mama is finally ready to be someone’s baby instead. At 1.5–2 years old and 50 lbs, Rosie is a stunning red coonhound mix with the perfect blend of playful puppy spirit and cozy couch-companion energy. She still delights in games of tug and fetch and has the cutest habit of tossing her treats into the air like they’re toys—pure joy in dog form. After she’s had her walks and playtime, she’s more than happy to declare it bedtime, hop up on the couch, and snuggle in close (lap attempts included). Rosie is an easy, well-mannered housemate: 100% house-trained, crate-trained, and great on leash. She enjoys watching squirrels from the window and is generally quiet, saving her voice for truly exciting events—like spotting deer. True to her hound roots, she’s curious and interested in wildlife on walks, but she’s responsive and quickly refocuses when guided. Because of that strong prey drive, she’ll need a cat-free home. Social, loving, and people-oriented, Rosie would thrive as an only dog or alongside a calm, balanced older dog. She adores everyone she meets and brings warmth, humor, and affection wherever she goes. Rosie has given so much love already—now it’s her turn to be spoiled. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle game, Rosie is ready to claim her spot by your side. The adoption fee of $150 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
