About Poppie

Available for ADOPTION or as a FOSTER TO ADOPT! Meet Poppie — a sweet, playful girl who is looking for a patient family ready to be her whole world. Poppie is around 40 lbs and about 1.5 years old. This gorgeous girl may have some Husky in her, and she has the personality to match: spirited, affectionate, and full of personality once she decides you've earned her trust. Poppie is what we like to call a "slow blossom." She can be shy and uncertain when she first meets new people, but don't let that fool you — this girl absolutely loves life once she's comfortable. She thrives in social settings and absolutely lights up at doggy daycare, where staff describe her as a joy to have around. She plays well with dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels — big dogs, small dogs, puppies, seniors — Poppie is a friend to all of them. She has also been around children (8+) and handled it well. Poppie is not starting from zero. She is fully vetted, potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and has shown she is a smart, capable learner. She just needs someone willing to build on that foundation with kindness and consistency. Her ideal home is one without cats, and one where her new family understands that she may need a little extra time to settle in and show you who she really is. The people who give her that space are going to be rewarded with a loving, fun, and loyal companion. If you've had an anxious or shy dog before and know the joy of watching them come out of their shell, Poppie might just be your girl. If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The adoption fee of $250 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
