About Ruby
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Sweet Ruby is adjusting to her new life at Milo Sanctuary after leaving the home she shared with her adopter for about four years. As a devoted Australian Kelpie mix, Ruby sometimes displayed herding-inspired protective behaviors, such as nipping at the ankles of perceived intruders—especially when she felt strongly bonded to her person, a senior woman she was eager to protect. While these behaviors were rooted in loyalty, they required a living situation with clear boundaries and strong leadership. Despite her protective streak, Ruby is primarily an attentive and fairly calm companion, known to bond deeply with her caretaker. She thrives with people who understand herding breeds, offering a mellow and easy-going presence in the home. Ruby enjoys coziness, delicious treats, and plenty of affection, and she is happiest alongside dog-savvy adopters who will appreciate all her quirky charms. Fun fact: With a birthday of January 10, Ruby is a committed Capricorn, known for loyalty and an independent spirit! Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
