Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language.
