Neuf D is a small, white and cream, neutered male Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix currently in Minnetonka, MN. At about 1 year and 3 months old and fully house trained, Neuf brings youthful energy and a quick mind to a home that offers patient training and structure. His vaccinations are up to date, and he's looking for a cat-free household where his lively spirit and friendly nature can shine.

About Neuf D

Neuf D is a lively, sharp Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix from Minnesota, and a generous sponsorship has already covered $150 of his adoption fee through The Wilbur Fund. Neuf brings high energy and a big heart: he’s happiest when chasing squeaky toys, roughhousing with other dogs, or zooming around the yard. He’s quick to learn, especially with food as motivation, and basic obedience is already coming along fast. Fully house trained and content in his crate at night, Neuf does best with a routine. He can get chatty when meeting new people or hearing unfamiliar sounds but settles once comfortable, and grows affectionate with those he gets to know at their pace. That said, leash walks are still a work in progress—he pulls, darts, and reacts to moving things—so an adopter committed to steady leash work is necessary. Neuf struggles a bit with separation anxiety and much prefers to stay near his people, which should improve as he settles into a stable home. He’s great with other dogs but chases cats, so a cat-free home suits him best. Sometimes he nibbles during play, so older children or adults who understand dog boundaries are ideal. Neuf has completed a stay-and-learn program to help with his reactivity, and his adopter will get ongoing support from the trainers. Neuf is ready to reward patient, steady handling with loyalty, snuggles, and all the tail wags you could hope for. Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Neuf D

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Neuf D, as a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix, typically does best in homes where he gets both indoor comfort and daily opportunities for play and exercise. Apartments can work if he gets frequent walks and mental stimulation, but a house with a secure yard is ideal.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Neuf D will thrive with regular access to a safe, fenced outdoor space where he can burn off his high energy. However, daily walks and active play can meet his needs if a yard isn't available.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua mixes like Neuf D can do well with older children who understand dog boundaries, especially since Neuf tends to get mouthy during play. He'd be best in a household without very young kids.
