About Blue
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Blue, a sweet little Yorkshire Terrier looking for his forever home. Blue is three years old, weighs just eight pounds, and sports a beautiful long apricot/beige coat. He came to the rescue after his former owner sadly had to give him up due to apartment restrictions. Even his foster parents considered keeping him because he’s so adorable and loving, but realized he deserves an active family who can play, take him on walks, and spend lots of time with him throughout his life. Blue is energetic and young at heart, thriving in a home where someone is often around—he isn’t a fan of being left alone for long periods. He’s not quite housebroken yet but does well with a belly band. Blue enjoys the company of other small dogs but does bark at bigger dogs while out and about, and he can be quite vocal when spotting activity outside the door. For this reason, a house with a fenced yard (and people to keep him company outside) is ideal; apartments or condos are not the best fit for his energetic, alert nature. Blue would be happiest with adopters who work from home or have staggered schedules, so he always has a companion by his side. Fun fact: with a birthday of May 1st, Blue is a Taurus—known for their loyalty and affectionate personalities. He is currently located at Homes Fur Hounds, Inc. in Williamsburg, VA. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Blue
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Yorkshire Terriers do best in homes where they receive consistent companionship and engagement. They typically thrive in houses with secure yards rather than apartments, as they tend to bark at unfamiliar sounds.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Yorkshire Terriers are small, they enjoy having access to a safe, fenced outdoor area where they can run and play. Regular walks are also important for their exercise needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yorkshire Terriers can be a good match for families with gentle, respectful children. Supervision is recommended, especially due to their small size and tendency to be fragile.
