About Loki

Loki has a medical condition that will require an on-going relationship with a veterinarian. The staff will be happy to talk to you more about this. Loki is a charming 6-year-old Beagle with a heart of gold and a legendary "singing voice." He's playful, affectionate, and a seasoned family dog who has lived happily with young kids and other small pups. Because Loki loves to "sing the song of his people," he is not a fit for apartment living. He needs a home where his vocal personality won't bother the neighbors! Loki is currently receiving care for a leg injury requiring surgery. Our team is handling his surgery, but he needs an adopter committed to his recovery journey. Could you be who he's looking for? Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you're ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you'd like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us.
