About Jessie
Jessie is a small Beagle mix with a dash of Chihuahua and maybe a little Pug or mystery in the family tree. Four years old and about 22 lbs, she was surrendered when her family couldn't care for her anymore. Jessie quickly won hearts in rescue with her big floppy ears, distinct little snoot, and her intense dedication to snuggling. She adapts well to new people—might hang back for a second and look to you for reassurance, but she warms up with just a bit of patience. Her energy is right in the middle: she will chase adventure outside, but happily logs hours snoozing in a sunbeam or on the softest spot she can find indoors. Jessie is all about her people, loves car rides, cozy couches, and licking an empty Starbucks cup like it's her job. She enjoys showing off her tricks—sit, stay, come, paw, and lay down—and is very food motivated (feed her apart from other pets, though, to keep the peace). Jessie has mastered house training and isn't currently crated, though she would probably enjoy a comfy crate setup. She gets along with calm, low-to-medium energy dogs who respect her space, but she’ll sass or guard resources with animals if pushed. With cats, she’s indifferent unless there’s food involved. Jessie would do best in a house versus apartment—her vocal opinions and snuggle routines demand a bit of space. Her ideal family includes kids 8+ who understand boundaries and want a snuggly, clever, sometimes sassy sidekick for life’s adventures. Click apply to start the adoption process.
