If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who just wants to be near his people, Drew might be your perfect match. This sweet older gentleman loves the simple things in life — soft beds, a comfy couch, tasty treats, and being part of the family. If you’re enjoying a snack, don’t be surprised if Drew gives you a polite little “ruff” to ask for a bite. He’s especially fond of peanut butter and milkbones, and he’ll happily keep you company while you indulge. Though he’s a couch potato at heart, Drew still has his playful moments. He enjoys spending time with other dogs and will occasionally break out into adorable zoomies in the yard. He currently lives peacefully with multiple dogs of all sizes and does very well with them. Drew is housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and can be trusted to free roam when home alone — he’ll likely just nap and keep your seat warm until you return. He is also comfortable in a crate or relaxing in his own space when needed. Drew does best with a calm, predictable lifestyle. He enjoys short walks but is perfectly content with a backyard and plenty of relaxation time. He has done well with children ages 12 and up but hasn’t been around younger kids, so an older, quieter home would suit him best. He can be a bit unsure around some men, but he handles it well by choosing to give himself space. He’s not reactive — just a sensitive soul who appreciates patience and understanding. As a senior, Drew does have some quirks that come with age. He may have occasional accidents, including sometimes in his sleep or in the car, so he will need an adopter who is compassionate and understanding of senior dog needs.
