Kilo is a gentle senior who just wants to be close to his people. If you stand up, he stands up. If you move to another room, he quietly follows. He likes to keep everyone in sight and feel that his little group is together. He has a very calm presence in the home and settles easily into whatever the day looks like. Most of the time he is curled up nearby, sleeping or quietly observing. He is not destructive and does not get into things, which makes him a very easy dog to live with. At night, Kilo prefers to be close and sleeps best right next to his person. He shows affection in a soft, quiet way and forms a strong bond with the people he trusts. He has done well around small animals, like guinea pigs, in foster and is a sensitive, respectful dog who thrives in a calm environment. He feels safest when life is predictable and when he knows where his people are. Kilo is not a fit for a home with cats. Because he is older, his vision is not perfect. He navigates familiar spaces well, but new environments can make him a bit unsure at first. He may bark briefly while he is figuring things out, but once he settles in, he relaxes. Kilo can get a little anxious when separated from his people and prefers not to be left alone for long periods. He does best in a home where someone is around most of the time or can bring him along. He would do best in a quieter home with adults or older kids who understand giving him space when he needs it. He is not looking for a busy or high energy lifestyle, just a calm home where he can feel safe, loved, and close to his people.
