About Shyla
Shyla is a 12-week-old Collie/Beagle mix, currently weighing 11lbs and expected to top out around 30lbs as an adult. She’s already spayed and up to date on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. Shyla is eligible for a foster-to-adopt arrangement, giving you the chance to get to know her before making it permanent. She’s at the lively, learning stage, and needs an adopter with real hands-on experience in dog ownership—someone prepared to give her structure, consistent training, and at least 90 minutes of significant movement every morning, along with walks and activities throughout the day. If you’ve fostered, owned, or dog-sat as an adult and know how to handle an energetic mixed breed, she’s the right fit. Shyla suits an environment that provides plenty of mental stimulation—think puzzle toys, trick training practice, and social opportunities. Potty training should come together quickly with a routine, though any transition brings a few mishaps. She gets along with other dogs and seems friendly with cats and children, though respectful kids eight and up are the safe bet. Her social, adaptable nature may do well in the city or suburbs, but she’s still figuring things out after her recent rescue journey. Shyla is being fostered in Manhattan, NY—not at the Social Tees Animal Rescue Foundation office itself. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
