Meet Hula Hoop! Hula Hoop came into the rescue from a hoarding situation where she was obviously neglected and overeating. She was nearly 28 lbs (!!!) and shaped very much like a hula hoop when we rescued her. She has been on a long gradual weight loss journey, and she is down to 12.8 lbs today-and no longer hula hoop shaped! Her bloodwork is now perfectly healthy! We believe that she is a Miniature Pinscher mix and that she is around 9 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and totally potty trained. She is ready for her new name and her new life. She’s just going by Hula these days, and she needs an adopter to be patient in trying to connect with her. She can be slow to warm up, but once she loves you-this girl smiles and wags her entire body with joy when you talk to her. She is so eager for love and place to call her forever. Hula is looking to be your everything. We have noticed that she seems to prefer female humans over males and her forearms/wrists are sadly damaged from years of neglect, so she should not be expected to go on long leashed walks and would prefer a fenced yard. She does well with other dogs but would prefer a forever home without cats. She deserves the world and a patient adopter. Once she loves you, she really loves you!
