About Ellie

Please contact JoEllen (sagdinfo@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ Ellie is a ~5-year-old Terrier mix with a big personality packed into a perfectly portable 17-pound body. The Important Stuff (aka: why you’ll love her) Potty-trained âœ... Crate-trained âœ... Excellent in the car (road trip co-pilot material) Not destructive (your shoes are safe ) LOVES fetch Lives for walkies Very people-oriented—she wants to be wherever you are Personality Ellie is equal parts sweet, sassy, and playful. She’s got that classic terrier sparkle—fun, a little opinionated (in a cute way), and full of life. She loves her people deeply and will happily be your shadow and your personal fetch trainer. Social Life Ellie has lived with other dogs (including fosters and her “sister,” Jojo) and does well with proper introductions. She especially tends to do best with male dogs or as the only dog, where she can fully relax and shine. On walks, she can get a bit excited and vocal when passing other dogs, but this is very manageable and improves with consistency and structure. Once she’s comfortable, her playful, social side really comes out. Her Ideal Home A home where she can be the only dog, or with a well-matched male dog. Female dogs are a possibility if intros are slow and the other dog isn't dominant. An owner who appreciates a little personality and a lot of love Someone who will throw the ball... repeatedly... possibly forever If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, slightly sassy companion who will love you endlessly (and keep you on a regular fetch schedule), Ellie might just be your girl Ellie's adoption fee is $200 and an online application can be completed online at www.texasgreatdane.org. Ellie is in a foster home in Austin. - IMPORTANT INFORMATION - SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.
