About Scout

Scout is a striking female Labrador Retriever/Irish Setter mix, sitting at about 60 lbs. She thrives in lively households and has energy to match. Born in late May (a Gemini, so expect plenty of smarts and curiosity), she’s happiest with people who keep her busy. A game of fetch or a run gets her tail wagging—she’ll fit right in with a jogger or hiker. She prefers human company over dogs and is very selective about her canine companions. Scout is fine around dogs on leash in public, but she’s not one for dog parks or off-leash play for now. She’s well-behaved in the house, has no accidents, and sleeps soundly through the night (right in bed if you’ll let her). While she adores people, Scout’s zest means she's too much for little kids but does well with older children. She does well on salmon and pea dog food, as chicken doesn’t agree with her. Her shiny black and white coat speaks for itself. Scout can only be adopted within Hanover County, VA, Richmond Metro, or adjacent counties. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
