Meet Jojo Jojo is thought to be around 18 months old, 13 pound little fluff who we believe is a Bichon/Poodle mix... or possibly a Maltipoo. Whatever the mix, he's all sweetness wrapped up in a tiny, adorable package with a story that makes his happy ending even more special. Jojo spent a couple of months on the run before finally being brought to safety by local animal control. He arrived matted and a bit of a mess, but clearly so relieved to be safe—and he hasn't stopped showing his gratitude since. Now that he's cleaned up and settling in, Jojo's personality is shining. He's a prancer and a dancer, with a daily burst of zoomies and a love for tossing around his stuffed toys. For a small guy, he can jump surprisingly high, and those strong back legs are likely from his time out exploring the world. He listens well, understands “no,” and will hop right down if he gets a little too curious on the counter. Jojo is house-trained as long as he's kept on a routine, and he'll even give a little cry to let you know when he needs to go out. He's a great leash walker and will need to stay leashed, especially in the beginning, since he's had a taste of life on the run. Even if there's a fenced yard, he'll still need a couple of weeks to adjust and learn he's safe and home for good. His adopter should be patient while he settles in—he took about a week or two to fully trust in his foster home, but once he does, he becomes a happy, easy companion. He's a sweet, friendly boy who may be a little shy at first but warms up nicely. He does well with other dogs and even met a cat during grooming without any issues. Jojo is quiet in the home, only barking if another dog starts it. He's excellent in his crate overnight with no accidents and does well when left alone. Jojo is up to date on vaccines and is in the process of being scheduled for neuter. He will be ready to go home on the 27th. After everything he's been through, Jojo is now acting like a normal, playful pup—he just needs a loving home to keep that happy ending going.
